Environmental Policy
Chow Sang Sang Group is committed to upholding our corporate social responsibility and is dedicated to integrating the concept of environmental protection into its own management and operations. The Group aims to work hand-in-hand with employees, customers and partners to continuously improve the Group's environmental performance and create a sustainable future for the next generation.
The four environmental aspects being focused on:
Climate Change Management
- Incorporate climate risks (physical and transition) into the Group's risk management framework, identify, analyse, evaluate, take action and monitor the impact of climate risks on the Group’s operation;
- Set long-term carbon reduction and carbon neutrality targets, formulate reduction roadmaps, monitor and periodically report on the progress of carbon reduction;
- Give full consideration to environmental protection and impact on climate before procurement decisions are made;
- Closely communicate with stakeholders (including employees, suppliers, and customers) to encourage them to reduce carbon emissions in their daily operations;
- Offset the Group's remaining carbon emissions by participating in carbon offset projects (such as afforestation) or purchasing carbon credits that are beneficial to the community and the environment.
Energy and Water Management
- Monitor and analyse energy and water consumption patterns to identify opportunities in enhancement of energy and water efficiency;
- Adopt advanced technologies, systems, measures and optimise production processes to continuously improve energy-saving and water-saving performance;
- Increase the use of renewable energy through on-site generation and procurement of renewable energy generated off-site.
Waste, Wastewater and Air Emission Management
- Comply with the relevant laws and regulations on waste, wastewater and exhaust gas emission in places where we have operation;
- Monitor and analyse emission pattern (including data on wastewater, exhaust gas emission and waste) and look for waste reduction opportunities;
- Take preventive measures (replace, reduce, reuse, recycle and re-generate) to reduce waste production;
- Reduce or eliminate the use of toxic and environmentally harmful chemicals and materials, and properly dispose of such waste when their use is unavoidable.
Packaging Materials Consumption
- Minimise packaging and adopt packaging design that uses recyclable or reusable materials as much as practicable;
- Encourage customers to reduce unnecessary packaging.
